This seems to be the most recommended hostel in Athens. This Athens hostel offers free breakfast, free wi-fi, 24 hours security, travel support, a sports bar and an awesome rooftop bar that is only opened during summer. The location is top notch; a mere 2 minutes walk from the Acropolis metro station. They also seem to take a better and more modern approach to the hostel business by trying to form an active and closely knit community made up of of visitors.

2. The Student & Travellers Inn
This hostel is situated in the center of Plaka, which is the Old Athens. This means easy access to everything you want. Even the Acropolis is a mere 10 minute walk away. They offer private rooms for up to 4 people, dorm rooms, air conditioned, shower with hot water running 24/7, non-stop Wi-fi Internet, laundry, luggage storage, wake-up calls and more.

3. Pagration Hostel
This cheap hostel in Athens is a family run business. It seems to be recommended by many guides, including Lonely Planet. Of course the location is good – Pagrati neighborhood – otherwise it wouldn’t be on this list. As for amenities, they offer the basic package such as TV, heating, luggage storage, washing machine and dryer and more.

4. Athens International Youth Hostel
This hostel is a 5 minutes walk away from Omonia square, the commercial center of Athens and a quick metro ride to all the major attractions in the city. They offer the usual, meaning free Internet, luggage storage, security, no curfew, breakfast, rooms with private bathrooms for 2-4 people and more.

5. Athens Easy Access Hostel
If you thought the Athens International Youth Hostel is close to Omonia square, well, think again, because this one is a mere 50 meters away! They offer free continental breakfast, free wi-fi, free luggage storage and a free Athens map. Not too shabby. It is also close to the shopping area of Ermou street.

6. Hostel Lozanni
Yet another cheap and centrally located hostel in Athens. Hostel Lozanni is close to Omonia Square and the Omonia central station and offers free Internet access both in the lobby and through wi-fi in the rooms, TV, non-stop security, air conditioning and more. You may want to know that breakfast is not included.

7. Hostel Aphrodite
This Athens hostel can offer rooms for up to 4 people, all with air conditioned and non-stop running hot water.
